Cash Converters 2025

ABOUT CASH CONVERTERS

The Cash Converters’ story began in 1984 in Perth, Western Australia, when founder Brian Cumins recognised an opportunity to create a modern retail store where customers could buy and sell quality second-hand goods.

Fast forward to 1994, the Cash Converters story expanded to Southern Africa, thanks to the vision of Richard Mukheibir, now CEO, and Peter Forshaw, now CFO. These pioneers of international franchising introduced South Africans to the Cash Converters brand as part of their efforts to bring globally successful franchises to the region.

Today, Cash Converters Southern Africa holds the master franchise license for sub-Saharan Africa and continues to offer a unique franchise opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs.
